They are a growing US-based consumer packaged goods (CPG) company building and scaling consumer brands across e-commerce and retail. As they continue to grow, they are expanding their finance operations and looking for someone who can bring accuracy, organization, and consistency to the day-to-day management of their payables and receivables.
👀About the role
They are looking for an AR/AP Assistant to support the finance team across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general financial administration.
You’ll play an important role in keeping the financial side of the business organized as the company manages vendors, manufacturers, logistics partners, retailers, and e-commerce operations. You’ll help ensure invoices are processed correctly, payments are tracked, customer balances are up to date, and financial records are maintained accurately.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers, and able to stay organized while managing a high volume of transactions and recurring deadlines.
👉 Responsibilities
- Process and code vendor invoices, purchase-related expenses, and other accounts payable transactions.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation when applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor bills, payment status, and outstanding balances.
- Prepare customer invoices and track accounts receivable across e-commerce, wholesale, and retail channels.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue customer balances.
- Record and reconcile payments received from customers and payments made to vendors.
- Assist with bank, credit card, and payment platform reconciliations.
- Support reconciliation of e-commerce and marketplace transactions with accounting records.
- Maintain organized records for vendors, customers, invoices, receipts, and payment documentation.
- Assist with month-end close by preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Identify discrepancies in invoices, payments, and account balances and help resolve them with vendors or internal teams.
- Work with operations, purchasing, logistics, and other teams to resolve billing and payment issues.
- Support cash flow tracking and provide accurate information on upcoming payables and outstanding receivables.
- Assist with general bookkeeping and finance-related administrative tasks as needed.
👉 Requirements
- 1 year of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a similar accounting role. Internships count!
- Experience working with US-based companies is strongly preferred, or general knowledge of US GAAP and US practices.
- Experience in CPG, e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, or a product-based business is a plus.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Experience processing invoices, tracking payments, and performing account reconciliations.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Comfortable working with high volumes of transactions and recurring deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organization and follow-through.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and proactively resolve issues.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating remotely with a US-based team.
